LASER MARKING
Foaming
The illustration on the right shows the basic
principle
of foaming with laser systems.
Concerted foaming of plastic is possible with AC LASER Software
and laser
machining
systems from ACSYS.
In that case, the plastic surface is raising.

With certain types of plastics, the mark can be made by foaming.
In this process,
the laser beam melts the surface of the plastic.
Gas bubbles are produced in the plastic during the process and are trapped inside after the material cools off. The enclosed gas increases the volume and the places that were processed with the laser appear to be raised.
ACSYS laser systems have multi-axis functionality which makes it possible to mark large-surfaces plastic webs on the workpiece.
