LASER MARKING
Carbonisation
The illustration on the right shows the basic
principle
of carbonisation with laser systems.
Concerted carbonisation of plastic is possible
with AC LASER Software and laser
machining
systems from ACSYS.
In that case, the plastic
surfaces still almost undamaged.

Other processes
Colour alteration and bleaching:
This effect can only be achieved with plastics, some paints and a few technical ceramics. The effect depends on the wave length of the laser beam. The laser beam penetrates into the material and is absorbed by colour pigments. If the pigments change chemically, this causes the colour of the material to change. Since the laser beam penetrates into the plastic the surface remains practically undamaged. The change in colour depends on the pigment and basic material.
