Digitizing
Leading edge technology – that‘s what we offer.
Impressive machine solutions from ACSYS deliver the greatest accuracy, precision and repeatability. Digitizing is based on the conoscopic holography method, allowing for extremely precise 3D digital images of all surfaces, plaster models, dies or working directly from coins and medals.
The resulting 3D file can be used for production and reproduction and can be easily processed in the CAD software. The advantages of this non-contact method are high speed and small measuring grid distances.
The ODC - Online Depth Control works precisely according to the same principle as digitizing, thus offering highly precise visual control of material removal during 3D engraving.
Key facts:
- Touchless scanning of all surfaces.
- The perfect tool for reproduction
of “old” coins or medals.
- Reverse engineering.
- High resolution down to 2 µm.
Absolute accuracy of 2 µm can be achieved with the replaceable lens system. Conoscopic holography offers the greatest precision and repeatable accuracy over a wide range of applications.
The LAS - Live Adjust System of ACSYS is a high resolution camera-based set-up tool for precise, error-free programming of your workpieces and opens up completely new possibilities for your creativity. At the same time set-up times are reduced to a minimum.
Right: The component from the software point of view.
The software detects the position and rotation of the component and marks or engraves at the previously programmed place. This example concerns very small plastic parts for high-precision ball bearings. In this example, 180 components were automatically
marked on a surface of 580 x 485 mm² in one work step.
OPR – Optical Parts Recognition
Optical parts recognition allows for fully automatic processing of non-palletised, loose parts. In the example on the left, the high-resolution camera automatically detects the arrangement and rotation of the die for striking coins and the laser applies frosting and a certification of genuineness in exactly the same place each time.
Frosting and surface texturing
The laser can be used for defined structuring of tool surfaces. Typically, relatively small structural elements that are repeated continuously but not necessarily visibly are engraved to form a smooth and in some cases polished surface. Lasers have a special role in areas where this structure is transferred to moulded workpieces.
Another application is selective "frosting" of polished moulded tools, for example minting dies for coins or medal. Unlike the process in which paint or a similar protective cover is first applied to the die and is then manually removed from certain areas to be frosted under the microscope by a scalpel before irradiation, frosting with a laser machining system is considerably less cumbersome. The entire process time is significantly reduced and the result no longer depends on the steady hand of an employee.
Areas to be frosted can be conveniently defined on screen with the mouse at high magnification, and errors can be corrected with a few clicks. In addition, lasers open up entirely new possibilities in terms of design, since in addition to traditional frosting with the goal of producing a matte surface, unlimited other textures with interesting visual effects can be applied.
This makes it possible to produce textures selectively in certain areas of injection mould and mould inserts with the laser, for example. These structures may also be made up of geometrical elements to produce a certain visual impression, or may consist of irregular structural units, for example as they occur in leather grains or a brushed wooden structure. The structures must be available to the program as a 3D data model.
3D engraving and excellent processing times
3D laser engraving allows for a three-dimensional surface structure on a wide range of materials.
Especially in the minting industry, ACSYS machining centres working together with AC-LASER program
to offer the highest level of efficiency. From file creation to output on the laser, all details are perfectly co-ordinated to ensure an intuitive workflow.
ODC - Online Depth Control
The ODC depth measurement system allows for removal of material with µ precision for laser engraving, thus ensuring highly precise results. Free form surfaces can be sampled and digitised with the ODC module, and can also be easily processed in the AC-LASER program.

Ultra-high-resolution cameras
and dual camera preview
The camera set-up module LAS - Live Adjust System from ACSYS makes working with the laser highly efficient. 2D and 3D graphics as well as texts can be edited directly on the workpiece with camera-based editing. A dual camera solution provides an additional ultra-high-resolution preview of the workpiece direct through the laser's beam path.
Effective data handling
with AC-LASER Software from ACSYS
The Laser Software Suite from ACSYS ensures highly effective data handling. Especially when processing 3D data, weaknesses in the basic programming of a software module are exposed mercilessly. AC LASER was specially developed and optimised for the area of 3D processing. You can achieve outstanding results with powerful
AC LASER software modules. The graphical user
interface allows you to implement each request in the shortest possible time, without having to making compromises in design or quality. Intelligent image processing functions reduce set-up times to a minimum.
Direct punching on coins and jewellery pieces
(direct hall marking)
Specific parameterisation of marks allows for highly forgery-proof direct punching on jewellery and coins. Specially configured beam profiles can be individually adjusted at any time, thus ensuring genuineness.
Manufacturing embossing stamps for
certification of genuineness
In addition to direct punching, it is also possible to manufacture embossing stamps for punching in
3D micro engraving applications.
