A laser system solution with two integrated laser sources allows the user to machine two sides of a workpiece simultaneously. Alternatively, it extends the range of materials that can be processed. For this purpose, two different laser sources must be used (see this example).
The laser sources that are used for this system are a fiber laser and a CO2 laser. These two laser sources use different wavelengths of the laser light. The absorption and thereby the effect of the laser radiation heavily depends on the material and wavelength. For more information about the different laser sources please see our laser compendium.
