One area of 3D laser engraving is the manufacturing of chip breakers on tools. Due to the small size and high resolution of structural elements, creating
the structure by mechanical means, for example
by milling, is extremely tedious or completely unfeasible.

Basic principle of 3D laser engraving by ACSYS


2.5D and 3D engraving differ from deep engraving through software-driven depth removal.
This makes it easy to implement pre-defined edge angles for embossing stamps, for complex three-dimensional surface structures on minting dies or in mould and die production.
